Week 4 - Recovering Integrity

topic posted Wed, February 25, 2004 - 9:24 AM by  Crystal
I hope I'm not stepping on any toes, but since no one has started a thread about week 4, I thought I'd share my week.

I'm still doing the morning pages, off and on, but this is fairly habitual for me, as I've been journal-writing for most of my life.

But I just wanted to share the "artist date" that I had last night. I signed up for a stained glass workshop about a
week before, that was for only 3 hours.I learned the very basics of glass cutting, and the grinding and welding part of the art...It felt like I was FINALLY starting to do something that makes me glad to be alive. It felt very comfortable and familiar, like I'd come home. Three hours was not nearly enough, and I plan to take a more in-depth course, soon.

I'd be interested in other's experiences, those "budding artists" out there...Anyone else have stories?

For my artist's date I watched the old film "Lust for Life" about Van Gogh. It's a bit oversentamental and overplayed, but it reminded me of the passion for art I used to have back when I first read the book. A good re-energizer...

Yeah I did similar.. I rented a Dali documentary from this insane video store by my place and burner it (oops did I say that)
..the man is a nut.. insane.. a great inspiration! Oh yeah and he's a good painter too.
I also took my brother to see The Passion of Christ for his birthday. Wow I wasn't prepared for that.. it made me really aware of my body at most times of the day and glad that it is not mangled with bone and fatty tissue on the outside. We had some good talks about Christianity and religion in general and what usually happens when smart people share the love (this Artist Way stuff is a piece of cake).
